ABOUT US

The Jeremiah L. Godfrey Brain Cancer Research Foundation is a South Carolina-based nonprofit organization that contributes funding towards brain cancer research that focuses on inoperable rare brain tumors in children ages 3 to 12 with a focus on Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. Our hope is that we will be instrumental in aiding medical research for the sole purpose of finding an effective treatment plan to prolong life and ultimately find a cure for children that are affected by this specific type of brain cancer.

Public donations and fundraising events are used to raise funds for research in the search for a cure for DIPG. It is through our partnerships with individuals in communities everywhere, healthcare organizations, and research facilities that we are able to collect the necessary data to aid in our quest to raise awareness and supply the funding needed to fulfill our mission.

The foundation was founded in December of 2022 by Jeremiah's father, Ron Godfrey, who decided that he would take action to ensure no other parent and child would have to go through what his family had just endured. Jeremiah L. Godfrey passed away on November 1, 2022 at the age of 6 due to DIPG. May he rest in power as #WEREMEMBERJERMIAH.
